Sea Breeze.

Rye, NH

Designed for the life within.
A thoughtful coastal home where architecture, landscape, and family come together naturally.

Designed as a forever home on the Rye coastline, Sea Breeze was shaped first and foremost by its site and the way the homeowners wanted to live. The irregularly shaped property presented an immediate design challenge, but became an opportunity to create a home that feels naturally fitted to the land rather than imposed upon it. The plan shifts and angles with the site, creating distinct spaces within an open layout and capturing individual views toward the water from throughout the home.

The couple envisioned a house that could welcome their growing family while remaining comfortable and relaxed for everyday life. Generous gathering spaces are balanced by cozy corners and intimate rooms, creating a sense of warmth that belies the home's size. An abundance of windows along the waterside fills the house with light, views, and coastal breezes, while the main stair becomes a focal point that brings together the home's two levels.

Every aspect of the design was considered around the idea of a home that could grow old gracefully with its owners—from the elevator that allows for aging in place to the flexible spaces designed for family gatherings. The result is an elegant yet approachable coastal home: deeply connected to its Rye setting, welcoming to family and friends, and designed to remain a beloved home for years to come.
