Lakeview Oasis.

Set along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, Lakeview Oasis was designed as a relaxed family retreat with a deceptively intimate sense of scale. One of the central challenges was giving every bedroom a meaningful connection to the lake while ensuring that a 6,500-square-foot home would still feel warm and welcoming. The architecture responds with a low, horizontal profile that settles into the landscape, with the upper level tucked beneath the roofline and carefully placed dormers softening the overall form.

The connection to the lake extends throughout the house. A sunroom creates a dedicated place to take in the panoramic water views, while generous windows and thoughtfully oriented spaces make the landscape a constant presence throughout the home. Natural materials and familiar New England forms reinforce the relaxed character of a seasonal retreat, while the organization of the spaces encourages both family time and quieter moments.

The result is a lake house that feels generous without feeling imposing—a place designed around the simple pleasures of life on Lake Winnipesaukee. From bedrooms that wake up to the water to the shoreline beyond, every element reinforces a sense of connection to the lake, the landscape, and the people who gather there.
